Located in Talmont-Saint-Hilaire, the Aquarium de Vendée is recommended for marine life enthusiasts. With over 500,000 liters of salt water, this aquarium is home to an incredible variety of marine animals belonging to 500 different species. This animal park near Saint Hilaire de Riez features three main worlds: the French and European coasts, with species from the Atlantic and Mediterranean, the Indo-Pacific zone and the tropical world.
You’ll see remarkable species such as sharks, sea turtles, seahorses, rays, jellyfish and a variety of exotic fish. The aquarium also features temporary exhibitions ofmarine-inspired worksby talented artists.
Located just a few minutes from Les Sables d’Olonne in France, the Aquarium de Vendée is a fascinating place where you can discover marine life from a unique and exciting angle.

The aquarium offers a variety of activities, including dolphin and seal shows and feeding sessions. Entertainment also includes:

And thanks to the tactile workshop, children aged 3 to 12 can discover the morphology of marine animals such as spider crabs, sea urchins, starfish and oysters. A games booklet is available at the start of the visit for a fun, interactive experience, including quizzes and riddles on the site’s three universes. To optimize children’s observation skills, a treasure hunt is available at the heart of this aquarium near Saint Hilaire de Riez.

For your visit
TheAquarium de Vendée, near Les Sables d’Olonne, is open all year round, from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm and from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm, with uninterrupted opening from 9:30 am to 7:00 pm in summer. A visit to the aquarium lasts around 1h30, and prices vary according to age. Children under 3 are admitted free of charge. A reduced rate is also available for disabled adults and children, and for accompanying adults. Special offers such as student rates, family packs and season tickets are also available.
For those with a small appetite, the animal park’s snack bar “L’HIPPOCAMPE” offers sweet and savoury dishes, as well as refreshing drinks.
From Le Cabestan campsite, take the D38 road for about 30 minutes to reach the Vendée aquarium in Talmont-Saint-Hilaire.
