Because we know that going on vacation with children is a bit like organizing an expedition, we’ve put together everything you need to make your life easier.
In the morning, take advantage of the fresh bread depot (July-August) to bite into a crusty baguette without taking the car, a simple pleasure that changes everything. Rent a plancha, and grill on your terrace! If you’d like to take the whole family on a bike ride along the coastal paths, the campsite offers rental bikes for adults and children!
On vacation, kids get dirty faster than at home. Fortunately, there’s a launderette at your disposal. If you’re camping with a baby, we offer a family kit rental service: chair, bathtub, cot.
Shops and supermarkets are also just a few minutes’ drive from the campsite.

Our mobile home rentals in Bretignolles-sur-Mer accommodate from 4 to 6 people and are equipped with everything you need: a functional kitchen, a private terrace for breakfasts in the sun, and separate bedrooms so that everyone can keep their own little corner of peace and quiet.
Do you prefer more traditional camping? Located between Les Sables-d’Olonne and Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie, Bretignolles-sur-Mer offers everything the Vendée coast has to offer for families.

Family beaches just a stone’s throw from the campsite
Just a few minutes from our family campsite by the sea in Bretignolles-sur-Mer La Parée, La Normandelière or Les Dunes, calm waters, fine sand and seasonal supervision for safe swimming. The beaches of Bretignolles offer different atmospheres depending on theage of the children and your wishes for the day.
The central beach, with its lively lifeguard service, is close to all amenities and services. La Normandelière, a more family-friendly beach, offers a protected setting and calm waters. La Sauzaie, with its rocks and coves, invites exploration and seaside fishing. The Dunes and Marais Girard complete the picture, with their wild expanses ideal for long walks.
At low tide, the beaches reveal a fascinating playground for children. Equipped with nets and buckets, they explore the pools left by the sea in search of crabs, shrimps and small fish. The rocks of La Sauzaie and Marais Girard offer the best fishing spots. Remember to check the tide times and respect the catch sizes.

Family water activities in Bretignolles-sur-Mer
Bretignolles-sur-Mer offers an ideal playground for families discovering water sports. Its beaches – from La Normandelière to La Sauzaie and the central beach – offer a variety of conditions to suit all levels, from first steps in the water to more committed sessions.
A number of local facilities offer surf, paddle, bodyboard, optimist and catamaran lessons and courses for children aged 6-7 and over. Qualified instructors guide apprentice riders in a safe environment, with equipment adapted to their size and level.
The Normandelière beach, supervised in season and protected from the prevailing winds, is an ideal spot for learning. Younger surfers can take it easy, while teenagers can try out their first waves.
For self-sufficient families, Bretignolles is home to several water sports equipment rental companies. Boards, wetsuits, paddles: you’ll find everything you need for impromptu sessions to suit your mood and the weather.
Throughout July and August, Bretignolles-sur-Mer is rolling out an entertainment program designed to keep young and old busy. The municipality and the Tourist Office are stepping up the number of free events in the commune, concentrated mainly in the Parc des Morinières and on the beaches.

During the summer vacations, the Mairie de Bretignolles-sur-Mer organizes five weeks of activities for young people aged 9 to 13. On the program: sports activities supervised by qualified instructors (sailing, paddle, group games), manual workshops (cooking, creative hobbies, jewelry-making) and discovery outings.
La Déferlante Festival: circus and street arts
Every year in July, the La Déferlante festival takes over the Parc des Morinières and the town center squares. This family event features circus shows, acrobatics, street acts, live music and theater. Admission is free, with several performances spread over several days. The companies perform during the day and evening, allowing families to enjoy the shows after the beach.
Free concerts and shows all summer long
The municipality organizes free open-air concerts several times a week in July and August. Musical styles vary: French variety, brass bands, local groups, themed evenings. Performances take place in the evening, generally from 9pm, on the esplanade de la Normandelière, in the Parc des Morinières or Place de la Parée. The July 14 fireworks display is a highlight of the summer, followed by a popular ball.
Boating Festival
This introductory day to water sports takes place on the Normandelière beach in July. Sailing schools and clubs offer demonstrations, free trials and supervised sea outings. Children can try out paddle, catamaran, optimist and kayak under the supervision of instructors.
